Art deco, elegant piping and hydrangea flowers

The first of last weeks wedding cakes incorporated art deco details with beautiful white roses and a touch of tartan on the cake board as a nod to the grooms Scottish heritage. The Flavours were Bottom tier- rich fruit cake, middle tier-carrot cake, top-tier vanilla bean. The wedding cake was delivered to the beautiful Low Wood Bay hotel in Windermere for the wedding of Jennifer and Barry. Congratulations to you both!

This 4-tier wedding cake was created for another wedding at Low Wood Bay. The bride and groom chose an elegant piped design with purple ribbon and a lace overlay. The flavours were, bottom tier-carrot cake, 3rd tier- caramel, 2nd tier chocolate, top tier vanilla. Congratulations Sam and Rich!

This 3-tier wedding cake with cascading hydrangea flowers was created for lovely bride Joanne, who got married at the beautiful Langdale Chase Hotel, Winderemere. The flavours were, bottom tier- vanilla bean, middle tier-chocolate, top tier- lemon. I received a lovely message from Joanne after the wedding "Charlotte, thank you so much. We were over the moon with our beautiful cake x x"

Blue and silver wedding cake

A gorgeous blue and silver colour scheme was chosen for Megan and Rob's wedding at Low Wood Bay Resort and Spa.  I loved the pretty pale blue and white sugar flowers combined with the silver leaf and silver geometric details on their cake.

Cascading Sugar Roses and Petal Ruffles

Todays Sugar Flower Sunday is all about sugar roses. I love the simplicity and elegance of a wedding cake with only sugar roses. It has a really modern yet timeless look. The sugar roses on this cake were made to match the roses in bride, Beverley's fresh flower bouquet. A gorgeous colour palette of pinks, purples and ivory sugar roses cascaded down the top two tiers of the cake.  The pretty ruffles on the bottom tier were created using one of my favourite techniques- Petal Ruffles. I have a tutorial for this technique in my dove grey wedding cake tutorial in my online shop  here    Don't forget to sign up for out mailing list while you are over there, I'll be sending out some discount codes very soon.  Here is a closer look at the different colours of the sugar roses in some close up shots. Which is your favourite? I loved the deeper pink shade!
