Here are just a few of my favourite wedding cakes from 2015. I enjoyed working with lots of lovely couples to design their wedding cakes!
Here are some of the sugar flowers we created in 2015, including icelandic poppies, moth orchids, roses, anemones, brunia berries, pinecones, dusty miller, amesia roses, ranunculus, wisteria and peonies. I really enjoyed working on such a variety of different flowers this year!
I was so excited that my Alice in Wonderland cake was chosen for the cover of Cake Craft and Decoration Party Cakes Magazine in May 2015!
The fantasy issue which was out on 14th May featured our step by step tutorial for this cake along with some fantastic ideas, inspirations, projects and interviews. Here is a look at the original design.
I really enjoyed continuing as a regular contributor to Cake Craft Guides in 2015. I was very excited to hear the theme for issue 24! The issue is all about fashion inspired cakes! I was given the task of designing a cake inspired by a Zuhair Murad gown. After looking through some wedding gowns, I quickly found a gown that I loved! Zuhair Murad's 'Tiana' gown with its sequins and floral embellishments became my design inspiration.
Here is the completed design, beautifully photographed by Melissa Beattie photography. The design features sequins, chocolate jewels and embellished flowers.
The issue which is available at to purchase here features my step-by-step tutorial for how to make this cake, including instructions for how to create your own jewel mould.
My next project for Cake Craft guides was inspired by The Nutcracker Ballet 'Waltz of the snowflakes'. The design features dancing ballerinas with snowflake tutus, falling snow and a tier of blue and white ruffled tutus. Photography by Melissa Beattie Photography.
Another project I completed for Cake Craft guides in 2015 was this pleated wedding cake with cascading sugar moth orchids created for Cake Craft Guides- Wedding Cakes & Sugar flowers Magazine. The full tutorial for this cake was featured in the magazine.

I was very proud that Sugar Ruffles was named one of the top 50 U.K wedding cake designers 2015.
Thank you to Gohen for such lovely words "Charlotte Tyson and her team at Sugar Ruffles create spectacular cakes that are fitting centerpieces for what after all is the most important day of the couple’s lives. This is most certainly in evidence when looking at the painstaking artistry that goes into every single design. This really is a designer who continues to strive for and deliver cake perfection."

In April 2015 Colin Cowie Weddings names our rainbow wedding cake one of the 10 prettiest spring wedding cakes!
I was very proud to create the wedding cake and favours for my brother and new sister-in-law in January 2015- the cake featured sugar succulents and pretty sugar ruffles.
I worked with some very talented people this year on some styled shoots, including a lake District shoot with Jo Bradbury Wedding Photographer which was featured on the English Wedding Blog and a stunning Rampside Coastal styled shoot.
I am looking forward to working on some exciting new projects in 2016. I am very happy to be continuing as a contributor to Cake Craft guides throughout 2016. I am also working closely with Low Wood Bay Hotel, Windermere to provide wedding cakes for their brides and grooms and have some brand new designs which I will be showcasing at the Low Wood Bay wedding fayre later this month!
