Glacier Gray

Glacier gray has been chosen as one of Pantone's colours of spring 2015.

PANTONE describes Glacier Gray as "an unobtrusive gray that contrasts and enhances; bouncing off other shades without taking away from them as it slips into the background to allow other colors to take center stage".

This makes it the perfect choice for weddings. It can be used as a neutral in its own right or paired with more vibrant colours such as yellow, coral and purple.

  1. I love glacier grey, and you have really nailed it with the colour on those gorgeous cakes. Love the lace doily under the 3-tiered cake :-)

Blue and silver wedding cake

A gorgeous blue and silver colour scheme was chosen for Megan and Rob's wedding at Low Wood Bay Resort and Spa.  I loved the pretty pale blue and white sugar flowers combined with the silver leaf and silver geometric details on their cake.

Cascading Sugar Roses and Petal Ruffles

Todays Sugar Flower Sunday is all about sugar roses. I love the simplicity and elegance of a wedding cake with only sugar roses. It has a really modern yet timeless look. The sugar roses on this cake were made to match the roses in bride, Beverley's fresh flower bouquet. A gorgeous colour palette of pinks, purples and ivory sugar roses cascaded down the top two tiers of the cake.  The pretty ruffles on the bottom tier were created using one of my favourite techniques- Petal Ruffles. I have a tutorial for this technique in my dove grey wedding cake tutorial in my online shop  here    Don't forget to sign up for out mailing list while you are over there, I'll be sending out some discount codes very soon.  Here is a closer look at the different colours of the sugar roses in some close up shots. Which is your favourite? I loved the deeper pink shade!
